Matt Ruwe Matt is currently a Managing Consultant for Sogeti USA in Omaha and has spent the last 14+ years developing on the Microsoft stack. Most of that time has been focused on web based technologies (CGI, ASP, ASP.Net, and other IIS related platforms) but he has strong experience with WF, WCF, WPF, and Silverlight. In fact, he now loves Silverlight more than any other technology on the planet. When he is not programming or learning about a new technology, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, and 3 kids. Topic:
.Net Micro Framework
As programmers we often get lost in the abstract world of software that lacks any physical interaction. We build programs that retrieve data, manipulate it, and display this information to our users who in turn give us some more data which we again change and ultimately save. How boring! Let’s take a break, have some fun and talk about a platform that interacts with the real world! In this discussion we’ll will be looking into the .Net Micro Framework which is a very small version of the full .Net framework that runs on embedded devices (some as small as a quarter). We’ll learn about a few different devices available, how to build several simple application and consider some real world applications for these tiny devices. You’ll walk away wanting to learn more about this fascinating technology. Food, Giveaways, Great Information: Definitely! Sponsor: Red Gate Software
