Topic:
From Vibe Coding to Hypervelocity Engineering: Inside Microsoft’s HVE Framework by Jason Rall

Most teams’ AI-assisted development starts the same way: someone opens Copilot, describes what they want, and vibes their way to working code. It’s fun and it’s fast, but it doesn’t scale. Results vary by who’s prompting, reviews get harder, and “it worked in my chat” becomes the new “it worked on my machine.”

Microsoft’s answer is Hypervelocity Engineering (HVE): a framework of specialized agents, reusable prompts, and constraint-based workflows spanning research, planning, implementation, and review. HVE is built for GitHub Copilot, but these concepts transcend any single tool, and we’ll connect them to our broader experience building software this way across other platforms. In this talk, Jason Rall and Ryan Skarin share what these patterns look like in practice: where the framework shines, where the pitfalls hide, and the problems and successes real teams have seen moving from vibe coding to AI-native delivery. Expect an interactive discussion, capped with a live demo.

Whether you’re a solo developer experimenting with Copilot or leading a team standardizing AI in your SDLC, you’ll leave with patterns you can apply Monday morning.

Speakers:
Jason Rall

Jason Rall is a Senior Application Development Consultant who specializes in untangling complex enterprise software and modernizing legacy systems at record speed. From taking a 15-year-old codebase suffocating under a 40,000-line unmerged branch and collapsing a 6-month delivery timeline into 10 weeks, to scaling AI-assisted engineering frameworks across massive enterprise healthcare environments, Jason builds and executes the patterns that are defining modern software delivery. He goes beyond theoretical AI hype to implement practical, production-grade workflows – helping developers move past basic "vibe coding" into structured, hyper-accelerated engineering that actually scales.
