Omaha .NET User Group August Meeting
Fellow .NET Users,
Thanks to everyone who was able to join us for our July meeting and to Ryan for his informative presentation on Azure Serverless triggers. My apologies for not getting this message out sooner as we worked through the logistics for this month's meeting. We are moving the meeting back by one week due to the regularly scheduled date being the same as the first Husker football game. Go Big Red!
For our August meeting, Zach will be presenting on how he was able to use CosmosDB and SignalR to solve some interesting problems in the Healthcare industry. For me personally, SignalR has always been an interesting technology and I'm looking forward to learning more about it. I hope you'll be able to join us for what I'm sure will be a great meeting!
The next .NET UG meeting will take place on Thursday, September 7th, starting at 6:00 PM. Food and drinks will be provided by our sponsor 15-20 minute before the meeting begins. After that Zach will be giving a 60-90 min presentation (see below). Akkodis will be giving away 2 Visa Gift Card worth $150 and $100 at the end of the meeting.

Topic:
Digitally Transforming a Call Center with Azure Cosmos DB and SignalR by Zach Gardner
Call Center agents have some of the hardest gigs, especially in a healthcare setting where they need to be licensed and credentialed, dealing with potentially life threatening situations. I recently worked with a group of nationally recognized agents to build a custom solution for them that allowed me to take advantage of both Azure Cosmos DB as well as SignalR. It positioned them to have software that fit their business processes, rather than having to tailor their business to the shortcoming of something off-the-shelf, and will allow them to scale up to meet future business opportunities with a highly responsive database and little to no code changes.
Speakers:Zach Gardner
Zach is the Chief Architect at Keyhole Software, and come to work to make users' lives better. He finds the nexus between business needs, how users want to use software, and what can be feasibly implemented given the constraints of time and cost. What gives Zach the most joy is not putting out fires, but preventing them from even happening. Additionally, he's responsible for collaborating and being curious, identifying emerging technologies and engaging developers to foster adoption and build excitement, and teaching and learning every single day.
