Omaha .NET User Group May Meeting
Fellow .NET Users,
Is it me, or is time flying? Maybe it's just that there's so much activity right now. Here's what's on the top of my mind:
- Microsoft Build is happening May 24th - 26th. If you're a developer on the Microsoft platform, this is the most important conference of the year!
- The local Connectaha Conference is happening July 25th. I've really enjoyed this conference and I'm glad it's back!
- Nebraska Code is happening July 14th - 15th. This is probably my favorite local conference for immersing in new technology.
- And don't forget that your Omaha .NET user group meets on the last Thursday of EVERY month. We haven't missed a beat, and we're working hard to build the best technology community in Omaha.
We're going to change it up a bit this month and go back to a virtual meeting. We will NOT be meeting in-person. Our next meeting will take place on Thursday, May 26th, starting at 6:00 PM. Our sponsor for this meeting, Orion Advisor Solutions, will be giving away 4 $50 gift cards. I hope you'll be able to join us for what I'm sure will be an awesome meeting.

Topic:
C# Blazor and Blazor UI Components – Why your next project should be Blazor/Web Assembly by Timothy Ingledue
In this session we will walk through the creation of a new Blazor Server .net6 application and discuss many aspects of value for any .net 6/core blazor/wasm project. How do you pick between Blazor and/or Web Assembly? We will be showing casing the Blazor UI Lifecycle by adding in descriptive logs for us to review in real-time. We will create custom components and demonstrate the passing data values from a grand parent component down to a grand child component utilizing cascading parameters. In addition we will implement the Mud Blazor component library and see how using Mud Blazor will take your application to the next level. At the end of the session the code will be made available via github.
Speakers:Timothy Ingledue
Timothy Ingledue is representing Tek Systems and is a senior .NET developer, solutions architect, speaker and mentor. He is enthusiastic about all forms of technology but has a special passion for all things Blazor and Web Assembly. In his free time he enjoys reading, listening to audible, woodworking and the occasional video game.
