Topic: Managed Metadata and the Managed Metadata Service
As SharePoint explodes in enterprise capacity, big data often results in a lot of big noise, too. Managed Metadata is a tool to help you separate valuable signals from all the useless background static. Today’s SPUG is intended to help content managers looking to optimize the user experience for document-centric collaboration in SharePoint and Office 365.
Presenter: David VanSickle
David has over 10 years of IT experience with the most recent filling the roles of SharePoint Administrator, Business Analyst, Developer, and Solutions Architect. David has worked in large corporate environments, small software start-ups, and as a consultant bringing real world knowledge and experience.
As a SharePoint MCTS, he is a part of a vibrant community that meet regularly at Omaha's SharePoint user group. In his current role as a developer / administrator for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska, he can usually be found mentoring business users and peers about the rich OOB features in SharePoint, encouraging best practices, and monitoring performance of multiple SharePoint farms. Food, Giveaways, Great Information: The Managed Metadata Service Term Store and Managed Metadata Columns
Food will be provided for the event and there will be multiple drawings for great prizes (or books)!
If you have special dietary requirements, please email either David or Kerry.
