**Topic:  **Microsoft Access within the Enterprise Recently, BCBSNE was looking for a tool to replace Microsoft Access based on a variety of technical problems it brings to the organization. A group of us did some research on possible tools to replace it and we landed on Access Services in SharePoint 2013. I’d like to present our findings on how it met the business requirements while still satisfying our technical requirements. I will give a brief demo on how to get started using Access Services in SharePoint 2013 Online and what it looks like. I will then demonstrate how to connect to it using familiar tools like SQL Server Management Studio. In addition to this, I’ll dive into how to connect to it from an internal LOB application. I will not be going into details on how to setup macros, validation rules or building advanced forms within Access 2013.

Presenter:  Josh Shapland Josh Shapland is a Software Developer at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE). He has developed in a variety of different spaces including SharePoint, MVC, .NET, SQL, WPF, and Windows Phone. Currently he is the Technical Lead on his team and is helping to shape the IS architecture at BCBSNE.
